Andy Spinks, the most ambitious kid in town, has set up a lemonade stand - or as he calls it, a "refreshments emporium". All business and no play, Andy enlists the help of Milton, his slow but loyal friend, to turn it into the beginnings of an empire. Thinking it would impress Jenny, the girl next door whom he has a crush on, he invites her over to see his business in action. "Lemons and Lemonade" is a quirky satire on corporations and businesses that have gotten so big they no longer identify with the average consumer or even know what they want.
